ITTY BITTY FUN AT MARKET

Finally home.  Two weeks in Houston, then I drove home to Florida with Janice and spent another week.  I have put together some pictures of our booth from market and wanted to share.  Here are a couple of our booth.  It was hard to get the whole booth in one picture, so it took several.

The booth was a lot of fun.  If you look close, you will see we created our own wall paper with our name.  Really fun.  We built a ladder system at the end so you could see quilts from both sides.  This feature got a lot of attention.

I mentioned ITTY BITTY fun and that is what we had.  We introduced the new ITTY BITTY BEATLE BAG, the little brother to the BEATLE BAG.  It is just over 7 inches wide and will hold all kinds of little things.

We introduced two new quilts.  The first is BLUE JAY WAY.  I call it my zen moment.  We used Basic Grey Persimmon from Moda fabrics.  Just Beautiful.

The second quilt is MONKEY BUSINESS.  Crazy, quirky and just plain cool.  Only 20 fat quarters and you have made this awesome quilt.  We used an assortment of Cotton and Steele fabrics for the sample.

One of the other big hits for market was our new apron.  The LADY GODIVA.  We had so much fun making it that we just kept picking new fabrics.  We wore different ones each day and great chef hats.  When asked what we were cooking, we said "TROUBLE."

Did I mention the apron has oversized hidden pockets tucked into the ruffles.  Maybe the best part.

Dina came along for all the fun.  We could never do it without her help.  She always had the best color combos when it came to the aprons also.

Another great thing about market is connected with old friends and making new.  These two ladies are from New Zealand and they have shopped with us for several years.  This year we got to meet them.

After market we broke down and moved the whole booth to a new location for FESTIVAL.  It was near the bathroom, always a hot spot.  We brought in Ariel, a cute little family friend and she helped us keep everything running smooth.
It was so much fun and so much work, but totally worth it.  All the new patterns are up on the website, www.abbeylanequilts.com.  Next week we will be showing you all about the ITTY BITTY BEATLE BAG, and the rumor is there may be a really great giveaway.

Have a great week.

I did a show a couple of weeks ago and met a great lady who has a quilt that I tried to sneak off with twice.

She has a great blog emsscrapbag.blogspot.com with fun patterns and techniques and you really need to check her out.  Her name is Emily Ravenberg Bailey and her company is AUNT EM'S QUILTS www.auntemsquilts.com/.

This one is from clynnbk and i love the accent from the strap and binding

FALL IS HERE

It was a little early for our last post, the one where we did redos of our quilts in Halloween Fabrics, but with the stores filled with Halloween now, this post seems more appropriate.

Through the years, I think the Halloween quilts and pillows we have done are probably my favorites.  So, we just thought we would post all the different projects, and if you check the last picture, you will see a preview for market of a new apron with a sample in Halloween Fabric.  So enjoy.

Our first book, FAB FIVE, featured this great quilt.
Our next book, SIMPLE CHOICES, had this haunted quilt.

Next came TOUCH OF WHIMSEY, a collection of pillows that featured these two spooky pillows.

JUST FOR FUN had quilts and wreaths for the holiday decorating

Next up SO MANY CHOICES, which has Janice's favorite quilt because of this little Kitty.

We have a couple of patterns that also have Halloween Themes.  This first is WITCHY WOMAN, a quick fun quilt.

The next one is from our LITTLE MUNCHKIN series and is probably my favorite.  Sized to be a wall hanging, meet PETER AND PENELOPE PUMPKIN.

And finally, we have a new apron debuting at market, but here is a sneak peak of it done in one of my favorite Halloween fabrics from Blend Fabrics.

So there you have it, if this doesn't make you want to grab some halloween fabric and start sewing, nothing will.  You can check out all the books and patterns on our website, www.abbeylanefabrics.com.

HAPPY HAUNTING

HALLOWEEN CAME EARLY

The heat of the summer has brought the spooky out in us, or it could be a couple of really cute Halloween Fabric Collections.

Janice and I really love Halloween so of course, we picked up two new collections.  Now, the question, what do you do with those cute fabrics that you don't really want to cut up in little pieces.

We pulled out a couple of our patterns and said, "YES", this fabric would look great in this fabric.

Let's start with Janice,  she picked a new collection from Riley Blake called WITCH HAZEL.  Then she took our pattern Mr. Mustard which uses 13 fat quarters and some yardage.

She decided on a dark background, which really brought out the bright colors in the collection.  I love this quilt.  I have some fat quarters from this collection too, so I see this quilt in my future.

I am in love with all Basic Grey fabrics from Moda and their new Halloween collection EERIE was no exception.  I chose one of our newest patterns, Shake Rattle and Roll  which uses 14 fat quarters and yardage for the background.

I love the finished quilt.  I can't wait for October.

I just love the way both these patterns show off the beautiful fabrics.  They would also be great with Christmas fabrics too.  So, step outside the box and be creative with those holiday fabrics.  Check out all our patterns at www.abbeylanequilts.com.

Have a great week.

Pittsburg, PA, we made it.  We had a long drive up from Florida with only small incidents, like the horrible rain, thunder, lightening, wind and hail for the last 120 miles of the trip through the winding hills of West Virginia.
The famous stacks.
We made it to the convention center despite the fact that some guy flagged us down on the freeway, pulled us over and told us our car was smoking.  After that, it was all up hill.  Here are the pics of our booth and all the new quilts we debuted.
Here is a shot of the whole Booth

We introduced a new series of quilts called LIL' MUNCHKINS.  Two smaller quilts perfect for wall hangings or holiday throws.  Meet PETER AND PENELOPE PUMPKIN AND SEBASTION SNOWMAN.

We have two new FAT QUARTER quilts.  On the right is SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL and on the left is GLASS ONION.

The last quilt is the adorable CELLOPHANE FLOWERS.  We also had a cute display for the Beatle Bag.

We have on new bag called THE "DINA" BAG

Here are a couple more photos of the booth.

It was a great time as always, meeting up with old friends and making new friends.  You can see all the new patterns which are on the website and ready to purchase, www.abbeylanequilts.com.  Hope you have a great week.  Marcea and Janice
